2016 QUINCE wine liqueur 375mL
Bronze medal winner at the Australian Fruit Wine Show 2017 (in Hobart)
This wine was crafted using the long fermentation method from 60% Smyrna and 40% Pineapple Quince. With no additional herbs or spices, around one kilogram of slow poached quince fruit has been used for every litre of wine produced.
Bottled unfiltered following two years of ageing. While slightly drier than our 'Holmwood Quince Dessert', this wine has a good degree of complexity. Nuances of quince jelly and membrillo (quince paste) have continued to develop since bottling. No oak has been used in this wine.
Great for drinking now. Enjoy as an aperitif or chilled from the fridge with a dessert. Great after dinner with your favourite soft cheese, as a delightful alternative to common fortifieds. If you like all things quince then it's certainly worth trying a bottle or two of this one. You certainly won't be disappointed!
